Tell us a little about yourself:
I’m an architectural designer at Perkins + Will. I’m a Chicago native and have always been inspired by the diversity of urban landscapes in the city.
What kinds of art do you create?
I create ink drawings and watercolors of architecture and urban scenes.
How did you get started?
I’ve always loved to draw and developed a passion for architectural sketching while studying abroad in Europe. Traveling and sketching from site became a habitual way for me to discover and understand new spaces. As an architect, I’ve learned to think and design through my hands – so for me the process of drawing is as much an act of synthesis and learning as it is a mode of self-expression and ideation.
In one sentence, briefly describe your artistic style:
I would describe my artistic style as thoughtful and detailed, focused on fluidity and pattern through linework.
