Stephanie Brooks currently lives and works in Chicago. She received her MFA from UIC and currently teaches sculpture at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago. Recent solo exhibitions include Tough & Sweet, Rhona Hoffman Gallery, Chicago, IL, Distance Intimacy at University Galleries of Illinois State University, And I’m Sentimental, Gahlberg Gallery, College of DuPage, Glen Ellyn, IL. Selected group exhibitions include City of Chicago, Department of Cultural Affairs public commission in Grant Park, Public Address curated by Ellen Rothenberg, Phaize, Peter Blum (New York), Schalter (Berlin), and Whitewalls (Hyde Park Art Center, Chicago). A catalogue of Brooks’ work will be published by University Galleries of Illinois State University. Brooks’ work is included in collections such as the Museum of Contemporary Art, the MacArthur Foundation, and the Microsoft Corporation in Seattle. Recently, Brooks’ work was shown at EXPO Chicago.
