FLATS Studio played host to social dining company, Dinner Lab for two nights in May. Dinner Lab connects undiscovered chefs and foodies alike with a unique experience. Their events bring strangers together around a common table to share cuisine crafted by up-and-coming chefs from all over the country. Recipes often speak to the background or heritage of the chef or an experiment they’ve been working on. Dinner Lab’s platform strays away from the traditional dining out experience, putting the chefs at the center.
Featured Chef de Cuisine: Chef Daniel Espinoza, some call him the male equivalent of the Lady Guadalupe, others call him the most huggable Mexican in Chicago. One thing is certain, his cuisine has placed him on the shortlist for sainthood. Born and raised in Chicago, Chef Daniel Espinoza is now Dinner Lab’s Chef de Cuisine in his hometown. After earning his culinary arts degree at Kendall College, Chef Danny traveled the world in pursuit of culinary gifts and Michelin stars with which to return to his windy city disciples. His food shines with the luster of plates from Bistro des Saveurs Castres and Mexique, with the approachability of a humble Mexican mercado.
