Tell us a little about yourself
I am a Chicago-based interdisciplinary artist whose primary focus lives in painting. My work consists primarily of large scale murals in both domestic and public venues. I try to stay highly involved holding seminars and speaking on public art practices and volunteer engaging with urban youth throughout the Mid-west on collaborative mural projects. Favorite recent completions consist of a 10,000 square foot mural in the Back of the Yards neighborhood at The Plant Chicago, leading a month long collaboration workshop in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and completing a commemorative mural tour for the late Charles Bradley.
What kind of art do you create?
With a childhood/youth rooted in painting houses and construction, I feel a large part of my artistic skillset is based in what I learned during that time. My relationship with making is very much rooted in collaborative, service and commissioned painting opportunities .
How did you get started?
I learned to draw before I learned how to write. Boulevard Art Center in Englewood every Saturday morning was my jam.
How would you describe your artistic style?
Available for ALL.
