Tell us a little about yourself.
About 12 years ago, an engine blew up on a plane I was in while it was taking off. We made an emergency landing and everything was ok. But right then I realized that life is short and it can end anytime. So I figured, I needed to do what makes me not just happy but fulfilled. So I pushed myself in a direction that did that.
What kind of art do you create?
I do drawings, paintings, prints, ceramics, I work in wood, – some literal, but most is abstract or conceptual
How did you get started?
I started out trying to get into galleries, started sending my work to publishers, networked and started getting projects.
How would you describe your artistic style?
Good question. 80% conceptual/ 20% I’m working with form and shape, texture, etc. – as I tend to work around different mediums. Most of time its about an idea I’m working around. Sometimes its to the point and sometimes its loose and thats because I want whomever is looking at the work to notice the idea based on their own baggage. Sometimes one thing can mean different things to different people. I feel my work tends to be loose, sometimes with big shapes and only when I’m trying to communicate something will I tighten up and express that in line work or just get a little more detailed..
