My work uses an assault of blunt colors, forms, everyday objects and materials coupled with juxtaposed observations reflecting the ebb and flow of the human condition and the irony of the abstractions which surround us in our daily lives.
Michael Robert Pollard was born in NYC in 1970, with a childhood spent in the Arizona desert. Teenage angst years were spent in the San Francisco Bay Area and Greater Northern California. Pollard attended the San Francisco Art Institute and graduated with honors in 1997 with a BFA in Painting. Pollard relocated to Chicago in 2004. A good art and sports town.
Pollard’s work has been shown at venues across the United States including, Vesuvos and Justice League in San Francisco, CA. Nelson Gallery and Davis Art Center in California. Sullivan Gallery, Free Range, and Roman Susan Gallery in Chicago Il, Gallery Side Car in Northwest Indiana and the Knight Gallery at the Community College of Rhode Island.
